How do i book a cleaning service?

How does the ‘Trip to the tip’ service work?
Please note that Blue Mountains residents have 2 FREE booked waste services per year, provided by the council. You can either book council clean-up and leave your waste at the kerb of your residence or, book a tip drop-off, where you drive the waste to the tip yourself. THESE SERVICES ARE FREE. You can read more about this council service and, what you can and cannot get rid of online. Council pick-up from your residence can take up to a month, whereas, dropping off to the tip can typically be arranged for the next day. If you need rubbish removed urgently and want to use one of your two FREE council booked waste services, we can load it on our ute and dispose of it at either the Blaxland or Katoomba tip for a $100 (you, as the resident will have to book the tip drop off online). If you don’t want to use your free service/ have none left for the year, we can still take your rubbish to the tip (no need to book anything). The price will be $100 for loading, driving to the tip & unloading into the bins at the tip + the cost of rubbish. Please click the link to see the council price list. In general, the council charges $520 per tonne of mixed waste. We will send you the receipt from the tip as proof. Please note we will only take light waste under 30kg/per item. Are you insured?
Yes, Cat Cleans Up is fully insured and i will be happy to send you our insurance policy upon request
How do I pay?
You can pay by card on our Square card reader, Cash or Bank Transfer. We highly appreciate Bank Transfer or Cash as any card payment incurs a fee for us. We don’t pass this fee onto our customers. An invoice will be provided with every clean with all of the payment options listed.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
We do require a 20% deposit for Deep Clean & Move In/Out services. Once you book these services, yours will be the only property we will be cleaning that day due to the complexity of the clean. We will also have to buy extra supplies. The deposit will help with covering initial costs and securing the booking.
Do I need to be home for the clean?
We will happily do the clean with or without you present. You can leave the keys in a designated area or we can come pick up spares prior to the clean.
What if I have pets?
We love all animals and bring cat and dog treats to our cleans (if your animal cannot have treats, please inform us). If you do have animals, please let us know, especially if you have any special instructions. Unfortunately, not all animals love strangers and we would really appreciate you containing animals that tend not to like visitors or attack the vacuum cleaner.
What is not included?
We don’t offer wet wiping of light bulbs, doing the laundry, resurfacing/waxing/refinishing of floors, putting away dishes, large furniture moving, excessive mould removal (this includes mould that has made its way into the silicone of wet areas and mould on cloth surfaces), removing permanent stains from timber, marble, concrete, tiles or other sensitive surfaces, large scale rubbish removal (our ‘tip to the trip’ service can be booked), excessive cleaning of outside areas, mowing, weeding, cleaning outside walls of the house
Do you use eco-friendly cleaning products?
We prefer using eco-friendly products where possible, however, some jobs require the use of heavy duty cleaners to get rid of tough grime. You can request we use only unscented and/or eco-friendly products when conducting your clean, but we may not be able to clean certain items such as ovens or shower screens with calcium build-up. One of our favourite cleaners to use is Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide which is eco-friendly, biodegradable, contains no harsh chemicals and is safe for humans and pets. It is also a very potent cleaner and disinfectant often used in hospital cleaning.
How long does a clean take?
This will depend on the state of the home, number of rooms, pets and even young kids. Homes with kids and pets tend to take longer as they simply create extra mess. A well maintained home where regular cleaning is done every 1-2 weeks will take approximately 1 hour for every room. Deep clean can take up to 2 hours per room. A move in/out can take about 4 hours per room, if the property is not well maintained. We like to do our jobs well and pay attention to detail which also means spending more time in your home.
What if I’m not happy with the clean?
We are only human and, on very rare occasions, we do miss things but will always come back to make it right. We will, however, not come back for certain things, such as, when mess is made after we have cleaned, when spiders build cobwebs after we have cleaned (they will do this if they are not removed- we will try and move your indoor spiders outside where possible), mould grown into silicone (only silicone replacement will fix this issue), shower glass cancer or permanent stains on sensitive surfaces and things that are not included in the service you’ve chosen. Please read ‘What is not included’ above for more and see our pricelist for what is included in each type of cleaning service.
Why do you not offer Move in/out service for 4+ bedroom houses?
We are a very small business and our cleans are usually only attended by one person. Move in/out for larger houses is beyond our capabilities. A 3 bedroom house that has been well maintained can take 8-10 hours. This doubles for poorly maintained houses. It can take us up to 2 days if carpet cleaning is required as well.
Can you remove mould?
We can remove mould to an extent, however, we are not a professional mould cleaning service. It is likely the mould will re-appear after a period of time, especially if the home is damp and the ventilation is poor. Mould that has made its way into silicone cannot be cleaned with any product, only silicone replacement will fix the issue. We will also not be able to remove mould from fabrics as mould removal products can create marks on fabric.
Do you move furniture?
We do prefer to move furniture that is around 10 kg, unless you don’t want us to. Because of OH & S and the threat of damages, we don’t move bigger items like large sofas, armchairs, beds, fridges, washing machines, and dryers. We will do our best to clean around and under them wherever possible.
I only require certain things cleaned/partial clean. How do you price that?
You can absolutely customise a service and only have us clean certain rooms/ items. We charge $45 per hour for this type of service.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?

Is it possible to book a same day clean?

Do you offer discounts for regular customers?
Yes, we offer a 10% discount for weekly and 5% for bi-weekly general cleans. Please note we recommend to start a regular service with a deep clean, followed by periodic general clean. This will ensure the whole house is always hygienic and presentable.
How does it work
To book a clean contact Cat. We can either come for a walkthrough of your house/business and discuss your expectations and priorities or, we can have a chat over the phone and email you a customised checklist. Our price list and services can be accessed here. We will bring this checklist with us on the day and tick tasks off, as we go along. If you’re home, we will check in with you to make sure you’re happy with the work. When no-one is present and, you give us permission, we will take photos of our work and send them to you. Please note we will always recommend a deep clean before we commence with a periodic general cleaning. This is to remove any stubborn dirt and clean areas that are usually neglected.
